Our Philosophy

TELC is dedicated to the development of the whole child. We believe children learn through discovery, exploration and direct experience. Our programs are based on children making choices, problem solving, taking responsibility and working together in constant exchange so that they become lifelong learners and develop skills that will help them become successful in the world in which they live.

Our Mission

  1. Provide superior, developmentally appropriate, culturally diverse early childhood education and care for children, designed to foster social and emotional growth; cognitive and academic development; independence and self-esteem.
  2. Provide an employment environment for our teachers that encourages and supports professional growth.

Our History

Trinity Early Learning Center (TELC) was established in 1986 by Trinity Presbyterian Church as a non-profit 501(c)(3), full-time child development program.

Thanks to the continued financial and leadership support of the church, TELC has flourished and now serves approximately 100 children in the Atlanta area from age eight weeks to five years old.

Curriculum

The Creative Curriculum for Infants, Toddlers, Twos, and Preschool, combines the latest research and the freshest ideas into a forward-thinking approach to learning – one that honors creativity and respects the role that teachers play in making learning exciting and relevant for every child in their classrooms.

Our programs promote children’s social-emotional development and encompass every aspect of your child’s world – interactions between child and materials; the child and other children; the child and teachers; and the merging of the child, home and school.

Classroom Centers and Development Process

Children learn through play – everything they touch and manipulate aids their intellectual development. We provide a nurturing, intimate classroom environment with guided, individual interaction to create the optimal setting for learning.

Each classroom has age-appropriate play centers that stimulate a lively learning environment where children develop decision-making skills, independence, and learn task completion.

Teachers and Staff

We are focused on attracting and retaining the best and brightest teachers to guide your child’s development. We encourage and support professional growth through grants and endowments to give financial support for educational opportunities, as well as time off for classes and planning time for homework. In fact, more than half of all current staff hold a bachelor’s degree in early childhood or child development, four are currently working on a bachelor’s degree, and five are pursuing a master’s degree.

Approach

Classes that foster CreativityDevelopment and Learning.

Whether your child is an infant, toddler, or anywhere in between, these early years are some of the most formative ones of his/her life. It is that understanding which guides all aspects of our curriculum and learning environment.
